Goodbye Knights!

Hey Guys.

I'm sorry to say that, but my time has come.
In these months that I blogged about chess I couldn't follow the improvement program very well, I don't have what it takes and my life need a break from Caíssa.

I love chess, and I'll always love, I'm not giving up on my dream to become a Grand Master, but my life is on a wodden bridge almost falling and the less weight I have with myself, the easier is to cross the bridge.
I'll be playing chess every week since I work with chess =P but i'm not in that need for training and improvement.

I'm studying for a Public Contest, so I need to be very focused. I really wanna (and need) this job and the remuneration, I could even take some chess lessons! :)

Thanks for all Knights, (specially Nemo, your friendship pushed me forward sometimes) someday I'll be back! (as soon as I can, maybe in a year or less)
Someday I'll be there, if I can't get the GM title, I'll know that I did my best!

BREAKING NEWS!!

Oh man, my life is confused @_@

Actually i'm dropping on college to enter another, in the meantime i mess up with pieces...

There's now a new tournament that I MUST participate! It's the PANAMERICAN School Champioship! And it'll be at São Sebastião do Paraíso - BRAZIL!
This city is very far from where I live, it'll be a lot expensive, but it's my last year since in 2009 i'll be a U20, and the tournament is U19.

I'm not well prepared for this, but's a tremendous nice experience and i'll play 7 OTB games with people from different coutrys, this will help me a lot to see where i'm going wrong on OTB.
The time control is 65'KO.

It'll cost me 3,75 months of work hehe, but it worth the costs!

Hope you'll help me analyze the games later!

Because of this tournament i'm doing CTB exercises as much as i can, like likeforests did before the World Open, just to prevent hangin' pieces and all. Obvious i'm not a good player as him, but CTB fits me well!

I have 25 days to the tournament, need to study chess and other things and I'll post EVERYDAY to have a registry of the preparation.

Time to get back!

Hello fellows knights, despite the time I was away from chessblogging I made some nice stuff. Finished the 1st tactics module on PCT and started the second, it brought great improvement to my play.

My improvement plan now consists in 2 units of PCT (tactics and strategy), Chess move by move book by Abramov, the Powerplay DVD series (The first is amazing for attacking players, i'm learning how to play some positions and continue the attack), some games on Roman Toran's strategy books and a few rapid games (21 min) on buho21 dayly. It takes me about 3h to finish it, I can't do it everyday (I'm starting a new job and college this week), but I'm doing my best and i'm proud of it! ;)

A new champion was born, congratulations to Nemo, who is a Dad now! Best of luck for you and your family! =] At the age of 3 he'll start "eating" paws hahahaha.

A Brazilian team is doing an amazing job at Europe! They'll be traveling around playing a lot of tournaments and hopefully trying to made GM norms. They are:

Hey guys! I'm not dead!

I finished CTB and i'm going through it again for a month, doing all the exercises in on week.

I'm in a rush, don't have much time to post

The tournament...

After all I played idividualy and made some horrendous blunders. The first game I won easily, the second I didn't saw a pin after Bxc3 (if Qxc3 the game will go on) and lost the queen. The third I was in a better endgame with an outside passed pawn and my opponent had only 5 minutes (i had 10), blundered my bishop and lost. The third I was a rook up, and blundered my queen for free like a grandmaster did these days. The forth game was equal, i had chances but couldn't make, lost again. And then i played a blind guy (pretty nice to see that he's playing) and won.

I could be the second or third, classified to the brazilians and face some IM's in the next month, but i gave up pieces, oh god.

I'm not felling very well with this result, i know i could play better, the time when i gave pieces was suppose to be gone. Maybe is because i play 5 OTB games in a space of 2/3 months. I'm thinking about quit chess. I train everyday, do that's exercises from CT-art (now CTB), play on chess.com and on the real games i drop pieces! I don't understand why it happens. Damn it!

Switching From CT-art to CTB

Well, i'm stuck on the level 40s exercises, they're too hard for me. It's hard to admit that i'm weaker then I thought, but everything has it's own time.

My rating decreased a lot (almost 140 points) and i'll play only 3 correspondence chess games simultaneously. And try to play at least a slow game every week.

Well, congratulations to Sir_Nemo! Who finished the circles with a very nice result! As soon as I finish the CTB I'll to the CT-art thing again.

EDIT: Wow, the CTB is easier than I expected, I finished level 1 with awesome 100%!

Break from chess

I take a vacation from chess and i'm returning now. In this time I lost a couple of games at chess.com, this dropped my rating to 1580 +-.
It's very hard to conciliate chess with life. lol

Now i'm the 8xx in the troys ranking, and didn't played much chess this week.
I have an upcoming tournament (21 may) wich is by teams. My team learned to play months ago, didn't know any basic principles... So it will be vry difficult, but we'll do our best and that's it!

Everything's back to normal now =]
